Here at Mom and Dad are Geeks, we’re not above celebrating a fake holiday, especially one created by Amazon.com as a way to get you to buy more stuff.
Yes, tomorrow (July 12, 2016) is Prime Day, Amazon’s yearly “shopping event” that wants you to go online for special deals that the online retailer has set up. More importantly, it’s a way to get people to sign up for Amazon Prime, its membership that offers members free shipping as well as access to its streaming media and music services.
On the off chance that you don’t already have an Amazon Prime membership, getting one on Prime Day is a great incentive – you get to participate in the Prime Day sales, and then are ready for the shipping frenzy that occurs later in the year during the holiday shopping season.
One way you can help us, the humble creators of this site, is to sign up via this site. Just click on the banner below, which will give us a small “finders fee” if you sign up for a Prime account (this link gives you a free 30-day trial). Go ahead, we’ll wait for you.
If you already have Prime, clicking on the banner below will give you some great deals on Prime Day:
OK, we don’t have access yet to any special deals for Prime Day (we’ll update tomorrow if we find some cool deals), but in the meantime, here are 5 cool things you could buy tomorrow:
1) Pre-order of the four Golden Girls Funko Pop! set:
2) LEGO Ghostbusters ECTO-1 set (from the new movie!)
3) LEGO Disney Mini-Figure packs (we can only find them in the wild at LEGO stores or Wal-Mart)
4) Marvel Headbanz game (guess what hero I am?)
5) Giant JENGA (because why not? It’s awesome!)
We’ll add some other ideas as we see some deals tomorrow.
